Refine your straight line quilting skills so that you can expertly finish up those quilt tops on your own home machine. Learn the tips and tricks of using a walking foot, marking, turning and burying knots as you master modern linear and curvy quilting designs on the studio’s Bernina machines.
We’ll transform your practice pieces into a set of stacking storage baskets to help you organize your sewing space or to gift.
I’ll have multiple examples of straight line quilting designs to inspire you.

Description
Only a full payment secures your space in a class and/or open studio. Payments are non-refundable. Please note: Students who cancel 72 hours or more prior to a class may transfer 100% of payment funds ONCE to the next available session or to another class/open studio. We will make every effort to accommodate a reschedule of this nature.
No refund or exchange will be given for late cancellations (72 hours or less) or no shows. Sorry, we are not able to make exceptions. This ensures that other students on a waiting list for spots in full classes have not missed an opportunity.
If a date was scheduled specifically for you there are no cancellations or transfers.

In this block workshop we’ll explore and practice the technique of piecing quilt blocks on paper. Pick wonky or isosceles triangles. Learn all the tips and tricks to their construction. Beginner and advanced sewists will be delighted with the precise results this technique is known for. Those sharp triangles and miniature pieces are easily a stitch line away.
Let’s manage all those beloved scraps or pick anew and train your eye to better see how color value and its placement affects quilt design as we create our own unique blocks.

Quilt As You Go Bins- Learn to Sew | Anytime Beginner Workshop

Quilt As You Go is a fun technique to get comfy with a machine. Learn the basics of cut, sew, and press while creating a useful bin. Use the studio's scraps or your own stash to make one or two. Take this skill home and apply it to making pouches, potholders, drawstring bags, pillows and other quilted gifts.
A basic supply list will be emailed or purchase a studio kit $10.
Strip Tease | Modern Improv Strip Piecing Workshop
Refine your improvisational quilting skills in this modern quilt block workshop. By merging one construction method with multiple string piecing techniques we’ll simultaneously create large string blocks and mitered log cabin blocks that appear both chaotic and controlled. Design one quilt or two with your blocks.
We’ll touch on fabric options, placement and the unlimited design potential to make a finished original quilt. Katie will have multiple inspiring examples of how you and these quilt blocks can play together.
All level of sewists welcome.

Crushed It Quilt Blocks | Modern Improv Crazy Piecing | Anytime Workshop
Let's take a modern approach to crazy piecing. This workshop will focus on a method for creating blocks with linear and geometric shapes to fit into endless quilt designs and projects. Katie will share examples that are sure to inspire you to create something beautiful with your dozen (or so) finished blocks you’ll construct in class.
Adding Zip | Invisible Zipper Pillows | Anytime Workshop
Refine your sewing skills and add sparkle to your home's decor while learning the ins and outs of installing an invisible zipper into a professional looking lined pillow. It's easier than you think! We'll even serge our pillow's inside edges so they can easily be thrown into the wash.
Schedule this project through Open Studios and put 'pillow' in the notes at checkout or contact the studio to schedule.

All Zipped Up | Box Pouch Workshop |
Refine some of your sewing skills, like installing a zipper and boxing corners while creating a professional looking lined pouch. Pick two of your favorite fabrics or come with (2) quilted panels for a more personal touch.
All levels of sewists welcome. Supply list to be emailed after sign up. A great workshop for making use of those orphaned quilt blocks and/or projects.
