SLING SAFETY

October 2, 2005 By Katie

*Before each use thoroughly inspect sling for damage.
*Always make sure child is securely in the sling before letting go of their weight.
*Not to be used with children over 35 pounds.
*Do not use while cooking or operating machinery.
*Never use as a car seat, airplane restraint or bike seat.
*Participating in sports with a baby in a sling is not appropriate.
*Do not use while sleeping. Do not put child to bed in a sling.
*Use care when going through doorways and around corners.
*Sudden movements and bending require care, please hold onto your baby.
*Use caution, uncooperative children can be in danger of coming out of sling.
*Be sure the child has sufficient airflow. Positional asphyxia (suffocation) can occur when a baby’s chin is pressed tightly against their chest, restricting airflow.

Please use common sense in the activities you choose to do while you have your child in a sling. Failure to follow safety instructions could result in serious injury or death. It is your responsibility to use a sling appropriately and according to safety warnings. Metrosupial Designs, or any distributor thereof is not liable in any way for damages, injuries, or death due to the use or misuse of sling.
