::Sunday Stash 3/Year of the Bull?::
The fabric world has me thinkin’ it should be “Year of the Bird.” For me it really started with Joel Dewberry’s Aviary line, but then I began seeing birds EVERYWHERE.
But I’ve always had a thing for birds, Herons in particular and I actually see Owls on the canal when I run, so with it popping up in fabric…you can only imagine.
This is a Japanese print. That’s Roan’s Miss Lilly peeking out of her snug ride .
Lots of Pillowcases, they make the best presents. Tutorial link here.
I especially enjoy the whimsical variety and am a huge fan of flannel. So when Joanns came out with the flannel, I armed myself with coupons and bought a ton.
Both pillows are made with owl fabric from Joanns.
And of course the typical receiving blanket. Double sided in flannel love.
Towels for a friend that shares her cabin on Whidbey Island with us. She’s a big bird lover.
We even nest with the birds.
Can’t afford to buy yourself some bird fabric? Just make an owl with what you got!
Now do you believe I’m obsessed? Hmmmm…maybe a Bird Quilt…or a quilting bee?
P.S. When are they going to do some Herons?

I LOVE owls too! I wish that flannel at Joann’s would come in cotton, I have not worked with flannel yet and I love cotton!!! My favorite is Alexander Henry’s Starling , his bird fabric, i love it.
Love the owls. I have some owl fabric that I’m stumped about who it’s by or what line it’s from. Maybe I should take a picture — you might know??
Birdies! Birdies make me so so happy. I love the trend in fabric and hope it sticks around!!! I’m loving everything you’ve made!
You’ve got me itching to go and buy some owl fabric. I love that owl fabric from Joann’s. I wish that was available here!
I love all those bird fabrics! How fun to have these in your stash. And I love the owl pillowcases – so cute.
Owls are everywhere these days! I love, love, LOVE the towels. They are stunning.
Thanks. Could the name kicky pants be any cuter?

Wow! You have a great stash! I love the birds and you have inspired me to pick up some of that paint-by-numbers design. Love it~thanks for the inspiration!
That is so funny! I too am obsessed with birds. I bought these great bird prints from Anthropologie when they were on sale. My husband was like, maybe you could put those somewhere else, like in the closet! haha!
I was just at Joann’s yesterday and found this vintage bird flannel fabric and bought the rest of the bolt. I am going to post a picture of it on my blog today (you can appreciate it at least!)
Oh and I used that Joel Aviary fabric for chair pads in the kitchen…see I told you!
Oh that would be awesome. I need to start using flannel I know alot of people use it for the back of their quilts.
ps I am hosting a FQ swap!!!! Do you want in?
Love the birds as well! It’s hard for me to stay away from all the bird fabric out there, but I’m going to have to abstain for now and try to make use of the fabric stash that seems to keep growing and growing!
I love the fabric on the top left of your birdie mosaic. And your Aviary looks great teamed with those other prints.
I love all these bird fabrics! Your owl pillowcase is adorable. I will have to check Joanns to see if they have any flannel left…it’s so cute
I LOVE the owls! And I am off this week, I feel a trip to JoAnns coming on and some pillow cases soon after that. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love those owls, but I think the little towels are my favorite of this post. What a great gift.
