::Valentine’s Day/Sick Day::

I consider myself fairly lucky that today was my first experience in the four plus years of parenting to be puked on. Yep, today was the day.
So besides doing a ton of laundry and reading we embraced Valentine’s Day. I am not much for the actual holiday, but I do like to reflect on LOVE and those that we hold close to our hearts. Plus, it’s just a darn good reason to craft.
We got out the supplies:
Thanks Haba for scoping the sales last year!

I started thinking about the garland above. I bought a bunch at Target last year in the dollar bins. Anyone could make something similar.
I’ve seen the technique for easy glitter application on this Martha Stewart. You need a Xyron machine, which essentially makes anything a sticker. I fist saw one used on this awesome idea, and bought mine on sale at Joann’s. Kids love it. Plus you can use it on fabric!
Peel the backing away and dip sticky sticker side in glitter. I would avoid using textured paper, we did and as you can see the sticker part pulled away a bit. Fine glitter would work better too. But you get the point. You can also buy glitter/foamy paper at Micheal’s if you don’t want the mess or the machine.

We stuck the hearts on lollipop sticks to give as Valentines. Maybe after nap we’ll add some ribbon or gems.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
Wow, the power to make *anything* a sticker is intoxicating! Yeah, I bet the crafting possibilites are one of the great things about being a parent.
Yes to crafting as a parent. No to being puked on.

Wow you managed to go over 4 years without being puked on. I have lost count of how many times I have been puked on. It seems my girls always manage to be in my arms. Very lucky for my husband!
Looks like a fun day crafting!
I got puked on by mom neice when I was 19 and it was horrible!!! Luckily I still have not experienced that with my daughter. The crafts look like tons of fun. I love to craft stuff like that.
lovely work. and he’s looking happy even though he has an upset tummy.
I like those sparkly hearts! I have been fearful of using glitter (or rather having my daughter use it) because I keep thinking it’s going to get on everything and I’ll continually have glitter on parts of my face for the next week…but perhaps I’ll give it a try.
hi Katie,
Congrat on your 1st on being puked on 🙂 You’re so lucky can stay “clean” for 4 years.. I can’t count anymore how many times for being puked on by 3 kids.
Btw, beautiful hearts you had made…
Happy valentine to you…
