Doggone it Viv (Highway Cottage Weblog), you stumped me for a long time with this fabric! I actually was feeling some pressure of not coming up with an idea by the deadline. But I wasn’t getting anything else done, so last night I just started cutting.
It’s so challenging to think outside your box.
I really wanted to “frame,” the Emily the Strange” image so it wouldn’t get lost in the prints. I also didn’t want the image to be butted against the reds.
I’m satisfied with the finished project. I even smiled at it when it was complete. I think I succeeded in making Emily present, and I quite like the other bits to the side. It measures a tad over 12.5 Viv, so you can cut down what side you’d like. I wanted to leave the right roomy enough that the little bits wouldn’t lose their seams.
Viv used this technique to print the fabric. Another thing to add to the list of things I want to try!
My spray bottle got knocked, and dripped a bit on the print, this caused some of it to run/fade a bit. Fortunately, it’s not really noticeable. There must be a way to set the ink?
