::Sunday Stash/Mendocino::

April 27, 2009 By Katie

Occasionally,  fleetingly, I feel that I need a daughter.  But, only to have someone to sew this cute Mendocino fabric into frocks, and such for.  Thanks, but one boy (currently having a dragon battle in the sunshine patch in the living room) is plenty.  I’ll borrow the girls.

I bought a ton of the Mendocino line in batches when it was released.  I’m a huge fan.  It’s fueled me creatively through a few Christmas gifts, plus some birthdays.

Now it’s Rose’s Birthday.  Some detail of her pillow, pictured at the top of the post.

Apparently, her Far Far Away line is the last for a bit (due to contract issues).

Hope you all got a bit of sewing love in for the weekend.  My Stepping Stone quilt is coming along and I hope to have some photos up this week.  Off to make biscuits!

    I have a couple fat quarters from this collection, but I’m not sure what to make yet. I’m thinking maybe a patchwork rug for my bathroom. I really love your patchwork pillow, but the pillow cases are adorable too.

    Love the pillow, it is adorable! I often wish I had a daughter too. I love ruffle dresses and girly things… my luck, I’d have a tom boy.. I was a bit of one growing up 🙂

    Love the pillow. You are welcome to borrow my girls whenever you want! I often think it would be nice to have a boy. But not sure I am up for having a third child or can you imagine – twins!

    After I discovered how hard it was to find lightening bugs fabrics once it went out of print, I bought up a ton of Mendocino fabrics. I wasn’t initially that taken with it until I started seeing people’s projects with it and then totally fell in love with it. Most of the fabric places I buy from sold out of the Far Far Away stuff before I could even get my hands on it!

    Thanks for letting us peek at your mendo stash, I have my eyes on her far, far away line which seems super sold out so guess I’ll have to drool over that on other peoples blogs too!

    Great pillows! I think I will feel the same way as you do if I don’t have any girls either….no one to make pretty frocks for! Glad you were able to make this lovely though!

    This is maybe the most gorgeous pieced thing I’ve ever seen— I love that line too, but the way you combined the pieces is perfect!

    I just purchased some of the Mendocino line, but I’m not sure what to do with it. I would have never thought about a pillow! It’s great…thanks for sharing!

    That fabric would look great for a block in my swap…have you read about it?http://summersadie.wordpress.com/2009/04/23/around-the-world-quilt-swap-idea/
    Yep, still pimpin’ the swap. It’s still an idea gettin’ feedback, but hopefully it will make soon.

    Love the Mendocino line. I had the orange seahorses and I love the soft feel of the fabric. So suitable for clothing! The far far away is so cute too but a bit expensive I think.

    The Mendocino line is my absolute favorite! I just ordered some more yards and will probably order some more, I’m just too scared that I’ run out off it someday 🙂 I’m glad the birds arrived so quickly, can’t wait to see the blocks you’ll make with them. Nah you don’t have to send me anything, just have fun with the birdies !
