I’ve been slow moving on projects this week. The sun made a daily appearance and we ventured into the yard and beyond.
Someone even took a big snooze outside today, under his bug quilt his Haba (my mom) made him for his fourth birthday.
My folks are coming into town tomorrow for a visit. We’ll all cozy up in our 680 square feet dwelling for two weeks. Time to pack up the majority of my sewing corner.
Grandma Goobin (not her real name, just a nickname) needed a new cigarette pouch. I attached a hook so she can attach it to her walker.
She’s old, real old, but lively as hell, and I adore her quick whit. Her personality is rather magnetic, so she now has a posse at the old folks home that smoke with her. I can imagine with the sun this week, that they gave up meals to soak it in…and smoke. It ironically probably adds years to their lives.
I decided to go for Crazy Mom Quilts One a Day Quilt Along too.
Why not, and I’ve been meaning to do something with the Amy Butler Charm I have around, and I love little projects. I’ve always admired the looks of Oh Fransson’s quilt made with it here. I am missing some of the lighter valued prints unfortunately (if anyone has the Parrot Flower in the white background I have some OOP Denyse Schmidt to trade), not that I don’t have plenty to substitute.
I have always ironed to one side when it comes to matching corners. My new goal, and I don’t know why, is trying to refine ironing my seams open AND have them align. So far, so good.
