::Loads of Amy Butler::

May 27, 2009 By Katie

Amy Butler’s new software arrived.   Some of my infant slings, pillows and quilts made with her fabrics are featured in a photo gallery, along with other artists’ creations.  It’s certainly inspirational to see what others create.  I imagine I’ll spend some time checking in on some of their blogs, and I would also like to find some time to make the tuffet on the cover!

Amy also send out information about her new organic bedding that will be available at Bed, Bath and Beyond.  I’ve been offered some samples, so stay tuned and I’ll let you know what I think.  The colors are stunning and I had a hard time deciding.

Crazy Mom Quilts One a Day Quilt Along (wow that’s hard to say), isn’t getting the daily attention, but I’m trying.  I’m guessing I should have over 30 nine patch done by now.  I felt pretty accomplished with 13 yesterday.

If I was a single girl, I’d sash it in starchy crispy white linen, and make a shower curtain for my claw foot tub.  Silver hooks and all.  Wouldn’t it be dreamy?

Amy Butler’s Charmed Line is still one of my all time favorites.  I’m missing a few of the prints, and may have to place some OOP fabric bribes to all you junkies to help fill in the gaps.

Since I actually washed my kitchen floor for once, I also decided to iron and baste this baby quilt that has been rolled under my bed for nearly a year.  A large portion of it is flannel.  Don’t know what I’m thinking.  I’ve got two wedding quilts to work on.  Sure was pretty to look at though.

A girl can dream right?

How fun – what a cool new tool to play with…and bedding too – can’t wait to see what color you chose! I love the nine patches – they are so pretty and would look absolutely beautiful as a shower curtain – a quilt will be even better I’m sure!

Love that baby quilt you are working on. Question – on the wedding quilts – are you going with some known color scheme? just going with what YOU like? Making a bed quilt or a throw??? I have two weddings coming up that I would love to make something for but I am stumped about those choices.
    Thanks!

DO you like the new software? I hate trying to print off patterns on my home printer. I think it is just a big fat pain in the booty. Is the software the kind you have to print patterns and piece them together like a puzzle? Your stuff is always lovely, so awesome to have it in the gallery! You rock!

Free samples of organic Amy Butler bedding? I can only imagine how soft that will be.

I know you’re not a single girl, but surely the boys of the house would love to have such a beautiful shower curtain? Or maybe just a regular curtain. Charmed was, I think, her best line. It’s fave of mine too.

I ordered this software and hope it comes soon. I can’t believe you scored some samples – lucky! I love your idea for a shower curtain with the 9-patch blocks. I have my own bathroom and might just try this with my 9-patch blocks. I love the colors you have going on!

    Congrats!
I wish you were still making the slings…I need one, and my last attempt at one almost caused a divorce.

I love your nine patches – and your comment about the shower curtain! You’re right, they would make a beautiful shower curtain with white sashing! Those darn husbands, spoilers of girly design!

do you use a mac or a pc? I’m dying for that program but have heard you need to download something extra for it to be mac-able. Also, you know that I’ll hunt you down some amy butler right!!! lol! your 9 patches are gooooorgeous!

Ooh, that would make a gorgeous shower curtain. I think you should still do that, just use twill instead of linen and give it a good spray of scotchguard before hanging. What good are quilts if they aren’t actually used? My favorites are the torn, discolored and loved ones.

I love all of your nine patch blocks! They are so bright and cheery.

Amy Butler’s quilt software is definitely on my wish list…it’s such an interesting concept and has great inspiration on there. Congrats on being included!

Love that baby quilt, but I love the nine-patch shower curtain idea even better. It would be dreamy.

Whoa–just checked out the Maywood Studio Luna and the focus fabric does look exactly like the design of the charm big daisies, just in different colors; the coordinating fabrics are a bit of a disppointment though. A couple of them an interesting michael miller-ish look to them but the others look kinda traditional.

Oh it’s all so lovely. I fall harder and harder for that tangerine baby quilt every time I look at it. Great job there. I still really like your shower curtain idea. I say go for it!
