Finishing up my nine patch class today made me think that Seattle people might be in the mood for some Spring sewing. I have two classes coming up in March that I thought I’d let you know about.
March 4th, 6-9pm I will hold my Values Class at The Quilting Loft in Ballard. We’ll study the importance of values in your patchwork by piecing half square triangles. This is a great class if you struggle with fabric choices.
My two week Improvisational Patchwork Class will also be at The Quilting Loft in Ballard on March 11th and 18th from 6-9pm. This class is super fun and all sorts of “thinking outside the box” technique will be studied. The second class generally consists of making a pillow or more blocks for a future quilt, but I really am led by those that attend. I’ve loved this class because of its free flow evolution, and always look forward to it.
April brings many changes to our life and some new classes will be listed at Fabric Crush. Please feel free to email me if you wish to be added to the class emails.
Don’t forget about the Seattle Modern Quilting Guilds first meeting February 20th. We’ve had amazing response and can’t wait to get acquainted with some other fine sewers!
i am so excited… i signed up for your improvisational patchwork class a while ago and i am so looking forward to it! also looking forward to meeting you at the modern quilting guild meeting in a few weeks. spring definitely has me itching to start sewing more!
Oh, I didn’t realize that you were teaching that class! Looking forward to it even more now!
(The values class that is…)
Your classes sounds great! It must be wonderful to pass on the passion! Can’t wait to hear about your first meeting of the Seattle Modern Quilt Guild.

Lovely, wish I could take a class!
Ooh, fun! I’d love to do your improvisational patchwork class – I’ll have to see if I can fit it in my schedule. I love the Quilting Loft. 🙂
Wow, I love your work, Katie. I want to take your improv patchwork class but my work schedule interferes with the March schedule at the Quilting Loft. Will you be teaching this two-session class again soon? Please put me on the waiting list. Thanks, Rebecca
Wow. wow.wow. Wish I lived there!
I love all your pillow designs! Is that just lined you use on a lot of them? Where would you reccomend getting linen that is good for pillows. I find that a lot of it is too light.
Have enjoyed reading your blog!
Oh, love both of those pillows! Also, your classes sound like a lot of fun. If I lived anywhere nearby, I would be the first to sign up for sure.
dang…I wish I lived closer to Ballard, somehow the 4hr commute over the pass from the East side is a bit beyond my committment level. Both of your classes sound more than interesting, especially the improvisational…but then I could use a lesson or two in value…
I love the flower fabric on the pillow to the left. Do you know what it is or where I can find it??
It’s an Alexander Henry. Este maybe?
