I’ve got a new quilt in mind because I can’t quite yet jump into the curves of this yet.
I’ve fallen in love with this Alexander Henry fabric called Whispering Wing. It has such luscious depth. I think it has found its quilt design too.
I made myself a note yesterday as I was changing my needle to spread the word of an awesome product I’ve used for years, Organ needles. These sewing machine needles are super affordable, even less expensive than Joann’s with a coupon and generally free shipping. To boot they come in the cutest little package like chewing gum.
And then I actually did some sewing!
Oh I do agree that fabric is lovely! And the Organ needles? I just discovered them and love them. I almost bought some on sale Singer needles at Hancock Fabrics and realized it was for just 4 needles. Even on sale, it cost more than the 10 needles in that sweet little “chewing gum wrapper”! xo,
I was looking at those organ needles recently and thought ‘hmm, they’re so cheap, surely they’re crappy but that is lovely packaging?’ Now I’ll go and buy some and be happy, because the regular ones I use are in awkward stupid packaging and I usually can’t get the darn things out without hurting a finger or 2.
So, whatcha sewing now? Pretty colours. Pretty seams too!
Um do really get 100 for $12? Oh my goodness. Buying NOW!
Wow – great tip…which ones do you usually buy? And do you use the same ones for quilting and piecing?
If you tell them your machine they let you know what to order. I usually use the same 80/12 unless I’m doing flannel or something other, but my new machine is a bit more temperamental.
Okay, I didn’t notice the pricing when I checked the link the first time. Just saw the 100 for $12 and ordered the #11 sharps. And with FREE SHIPPING! Thanks again! xo,
I have a bunch of those needles. I order them in packs of 100… they’re great!
great fabric… i love those needles too, but the package is diferent here… there is not like a chewing gum wrap here 🙂
Awesome tip! Thanks!
I love those organ needles! It makes me smile every time I open the package and put a new one in my machine 🙂
