half triangle square quilt, Improvisational Quilting Classes, Improvisational Quilts, Innovative Patchwork Piecing

::New Digs AND New Classes!!::

Fabric Crush quickly outgrew its sweet wee shop in Magnolia Village and Sarah has moved the boutique to Wallingford Center! ( 1815 N. 45th Street,  206.432.9929)  Her new space occupies the old kindergarten room of the restored school.  Her fab signature lighting and floor to ceiling windows make shopping for fabric a dream.  Come get your crush on.

Of course there are classes.  My first class will be the Half Square Triangle on April 13th and 14th from 6-8pm.  This simple block is so versatile loaning itself to multiple designs.   We’ll learn technique and construction, discuss some color ideas and play with design ideas before sewing our rows together to make a quilt top.

Here’s just a few design ideas:

Blocks with prints and solids

Diamonds with solids and prints

Complementary color schemes with all prints

All sorts of zig zag designs

These are just a few.  This class is fun for beginners to the more experienced sewer/quilter wanting to experiment with color and design!

April 28th and May 5th (Wednesdays) we’ll offer a Coin Quilt class from 6-8. We’ll cover traditional construction, but also the option of a more improvisational piece.

Pop on over to check out the other sewing classes offered and to sign up.

    one of these days I’m going to book in for your classes, just to hang out (but so far I just can’t convince that damn husband of mine to pay for my airfare over the North Pole)

    Wish I could get to the classes – too far from Australia – but your quilts are wonderful. Especially the coin quilt – just beautiful!
