I’ve had the most amazing week. It was filled with two basic things that make me so happy. Friends and Fabric. It started with my friend Jacquie of Tallgrass Prairie Studio coming and talking quilty stuff at Fabric Crush.
Thanks to Sarah for hosting and the supportive crowd! How fun to chat and shop for modern fabrics with you all!
But wait, it didn’t end there…
Jacquie and I took the ferry over to Bainbridge Island to meet up with our friend Kathy Mack, owner of Pink Chalk Fabrics. Kathy is so fun and friendly and just moved her fabulous selection of fabrics into a light filled warehouse. We were kids in a candy store! Just look at those smiles! We could all have talked late into the night.
And of course we shopped!
How sweet! I can’t wait to do it all over again.
What a wonderful day! I loved hearing about it.
That does sound incredibly sweet! Some of my favorite quilters all in spot. I wish I could have made it to Fabric Crush for Jacquie’s show, she is amazingly talented.
What a week indeed!
Oh, how I wish I could have been there for that trunk show! Thanks for sharing!
It sounds like a dream come true.
Hi Katie,
It was such fun to meet you at Pink Chalk. I enjoyed your enthusiasm for fabrics. I’m having a good time discovering your blog. Not a quilter yet but I’m highly inspired by all that I see. I’m sure its just around the corner.
Thank you for your kind words about my sea glass jewelry. Hope you find the time to have a look.

I just ADORE your work!! We share a mutual friend and after ranting and raving about her little girl’s pillow case of all things, she finally gave me the link to your blog. 🙂 I’ll be peaking in to watch you finish your projects!!
i will bet kathy’s store is wonderful. she has such a great selection!
Lovely day, shared with fellow quilters! Would loved to have been there for the trunk show…
sounds like it was a fabulous day! I’m drooling over both of those stores!
So jealous!!!
I love the Fabric Crush store in Wallingford. My quilting group recently bought fabric there for a shared project. The main colors are hot pink, orange, turquoise and mid-blue. It’ll take us until early June to finish the quilt.
We’ll post a picture of our group quilt on our blog:
