I pieced this quilt top last Winter at the shop. I was so delighted to see the quilting that Ahava did to finish it up. Look at those flowers!
I hate using a whole line of fabrics in a single quilt and added these dots.
The large log cabin quilt pattern is from Last Minute Patchwork and Gifts, though by no means would you have to follow a pattern for this quilt.
I searched for potential fabrics to recreate it for my niece…no luck. So many large prints have a boring repeat to them. This one holds its own.
So I reordered them on sale in the colorway that flew off the shelves at the Quilting Loft before I could get them. Not all of these will go into the quilt, but I LOVE the grays with the blues for adding to the stash. I also got the large flowers for the middle and the next size down for the border. I’ll be on the lookout for the perfect print to mix in and pop the focus print.
Hi Katie! Long time no see, boo…
I love the top, large log cabins are so much fun to show off big patterns to their fullest. I may I also confess my love of the grey/blue combo.
I’m hoping to make it to the guild meeting this month. We’ve been soooo lazy (kinda nice).
Love those greys and blues! Don’t you think that grey has replaced brown in trend these days?
Lovesies! I always liked that pattern in the book and it’s really nice to see it made up in another set of fabrics. I really love the gorgeous quilting, too. Very fun.
Its lovely. I always loved the colorway and its nice to see it all quilted up.
