“God is really only another artist.  He invented the giraffe, the elephant, and the cat.  He has no real style.  He just goes on trying other things.” Pablo Picasso

If you need a rainy day activity, I highly recommend taking a day to go see the Picasso exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum.  My Father was in town and we made a day of it.

Make sure to run around the corner to The Friesen Gallery and see Francoise Gilot’s work (the only woman to have left him and apparently he was spiteful and tried to ruin her career).

It’s worth the wind and rain.

Of course you can’t take any photos of his work, but you can wander around after.

You might even see some quilts in what you view.

My camera had a hard time pixilating this.

Extreme Log Cabin?

I love the tunneling in this.

Inset seams?

I love to wander the museum shop to gather inspiration later.

“It takes a long time to become young.” Pablo Picasso

Going today! I’m glad to see we can take photos of the other art. I’ll pack my camera.

Have fun! You can’t take photos of everything, but they tell you on the information card whether you can or not.

Picasso is one of my favorites – total whack job, incredibly flawed human, but crazy talented. I love that you saw a quilt in this art. Exteme log cabin – nice.

I was very intrigued by the pillows, so I looked up Bholu and found out that the pillows are hand embroidered. Since I can’t see closely enough to determine if there is piping, I can only assume that it is either intricate embroidery made to look like piping or they have top-stitched piping in some sort of embroidery fashion. They stress their skill for hand-embroidery on the site and hand stitching each item! Oh, aren’t they beautiful!

I love the simplicity of the pillows.
