Having missed the last Seattle Modern Quilting Guilds Friday night and Saturday Sew-ins, I was so happy to make it this past Saturday and see many new faces.
Our space has worked out so well and the Friday night Sew-ins have been a huge hit (one this Friday btw).
Some Quilting Bee blocks emerged on Ara Jane’s table that shined with talent. I was loving Ara Jane’s above and Stitched In Color’s blocks below.
I was able to see the progress Meaghan‘s made on her quilt after we had lunch earlier in the week. Hopefully she’ll be there Friday so I can see her continuing straight stitching for the quilting. She has a load of awesome fabric leaves that will complete it.
Sue continued on a string/hst quilt and told me yesterday that it was finished. I love the colors.
Melissa joked that she didn’t complete a single stitch the whole Sew-in but did some show and tell of her subway quilt for her sister.
This is the front folded onto the back. She added a cute bike applique to the bottom.
One of my favorites was the kindergarten auction quilt that Cathy was working on. I want to do one next year and this one was so fun with the kids handprints appliqued on.
Awesome day ladies! Hope to see you on Friday. Check the site, we added the December Friday Sew-In!

My ‘What Little Boy’s Are Made Of’ Charm Pack is here.
Fancy an Invisible Zipper Pillow Class?
Thanks for the link love, Katie! I can’t wait to see Ara’s quilt.
you betcha!
Oh my goodness. So much great inspiration in this post.
HST string quilt? I just fell in love.
Okay, I’m inspired and envious!
I LOVE that Kindergarten quilt idea. SO cute! Much better than the one my daughters 1st grade class did last year. Did she just have kids draw their pictures right on muslin or other solid fabric with regular non-washable markers? I’d love to try this! Even just with my own kid’s art;) I would love if you could find out and email me back. Such adorable quilt! Lovin that HST string quilt too!! You are all amazing! Wish I lived close to one of those awesome modern quilt guilds – I could so use a sew-in! I’m hours away down here in rural Yacolt!
Awesome quilts & fabrics
Bright, and happy colors……..loving this for the last couple of years……………*almost* ready to sell or trade all my traditional stash! It’s not getting used…..only the brights and dots and stuff are 🙂
Use them according to value and they will work just fine in a modern design.
Hey, I have baby quilt squares for you! Will you call my cell to tell me where to drop tehm off!
Hello,
We are travelling to Seattle from New Zealand, with another couple. The 2 females are avid and addicted quilters and would love to go to a quilting shop. As we are only there for 3 days and have no idea of whats there or 1-2 of yours easiest shops to go to. Can you please advise us of anything. We are going to be in Seattle on the 22,23,24th June.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Katie, where can I get information on the string/hst quilt? I’d love to get a copy of the pattern.
no pattern, just make a square of strings and match it with a solid square. Follow instructions for making a half-square-triangle to finish. Hope that helps.
