I’m not sure if it will ever get here, Summer in the Northwest that is. So I’m producing my own sunshine around here in quilt form.
Forgot to remove the tape and I’m still sticking to finishing up unfinished projects, so these blocks have been seen in other forms like Tilted and I still have 8 more around.
It’s all incased in white flannel cause that’s what I have. I managed some inset seams, a first for me.
Just waiting for some Rolling Hills for the back.
Then of course the hard part for me is figuring out the quilting. I’m big on this, but want it to be soft, so dense quilting won’t work.
Some favorite of the very few blocks.
Hope everyone is having a great week. I have a boat load of people coming Saturday for brunch and the Solstice Parade, plus one little boy’s birthday.
Cross your fingers I don’t get the cold the rest of the family has and that maybe the word ‘Solstice’ will remind the weather that it needs to start acting like Summer for a change.
Maybe it could even break 68 degrees.
The quilt is gorgeous…so I guess this is a bad time to mention how sunburned I am right? 🙂
That’s ok, I’ll take pasty white over a sunburn.
You need some of Michigans weather in Seattle. Maybe I’ll bring it with us.
That backing is so beautiful! Your quilts are always such an inspiration.
love your new quilt top! i always love your fresh take on piecing fabric!
It looks like little thought bubbles rising. Or soap bubbles, which also reminds me of summer…
How pretty.
so clever. it does….hmmm…
The quilt looks great! I have been wanting to use some of that Rolling Hills it will look so good as your backing. I like the idea of bubbles like blowing bubbles in the summer.
Thanks. I love the Rolling Hills too and thought of quilting that maybe too.
This may sound slightly strange but the positioning of your squares makes me think of a group of small children jostling for position when you ask them to form a line. It`s of course absolutely beautiful. I am very envious of your 68 F – it`s way too hot here at the moment although I accept the grass is always greener. Enjoy your guests and the Solstice Parade.
so lovely! i grew up in seattle (well, kent actually) and i miss those mild summers.
Your squares really pop on the white background, love it!
Thank you, just basted it today.
