::Little Man’s Birthday::

June 21, 2011 By Katie

Seven years ago I became a Mom, something I never imagined being.

Roan’s sweet and imaginative,

not to mention silly.

He knows what he likes, there is nothing wishy-washy about him.

He’s affectionate, which I love.

Like his parents, his appreciation of the water seems to run through his blood,

as well as reading,

and loving Seattle.

He’s also braver than all get out when you least expect it.

I don’t think I would have discovered my love of sewing, or understood fully why some species eat their spawn if it weren’t for his existence.

We celebrated the start of his 7th revolution around the sun on Saturday.

Friday I made cupcakes in ice cream cones for his celebration with his school mates and couldn’t help thinking how much better birthdays are then days of labor!

My Mom always made me these cupcakes for our birthdays when I was young and I still remember them to this day.

And a birthday wouldn’t be a birthday in this house without some white chocolate/strawberry cake.

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Happy birthday to your Little Man…a beautiful post and beautiful images. I taught 2nd Grade for a year and 7 is a great age. Enthusiasm knows no bounds.

I really enjoyed looking at all of the pictures. Happy Birthday to your little man! That white chocolate/strawberry cake looks scrumptious…two of my favorite things! Would love the recipe!

    Aww. Happy Birthday to him!
And I know what you mean about your kid turning you into the quilter. I quilted before kids, but since having them it is a true passion,
