::Quilting Explosion::
I was plugging along and sticking to the list.
I even pulled a skeleton from the closet after seeing Amber’s quilt here.
I’m not sure about this variation of the value quilt yet, but I will just keep adding rows and columns.
It’s trickier to work the values when you are using just scraps which include larger prints that hold light, medium and darks. The proportion of light on dark is also small, or in this case it is really a load of mediums which creates less definition. There are a few areas I wish I would have changed, but that’s quilting for ya.
I think I would go opposite next time, lighter with the squares next time and darker with the diamonds. This would work well with warm and cool thing too.
Then I started to diverge from the list after my triangle block class last week. I thought to add an outline to the triangles.
We’ll see if I can actually get the white to merge like that, but that’s the plan. I’m going to try to finish up the background on the other side today.
Then there’s this mess colorful charm quilt I’ve been cutting cutting cutting some favorite fabrics for. I needed a project that was simple, fresh and bright to go with my new duvet cover.
The only problem was it led me to purchasing more fabric. Why does that always happen?
This is still hanging too, but I’m thinking of chevroning it. Not sure if that is a word.
Then there’s all that flea market fancy I cut up AND a sunburst that’s been developing.
The cherry on the cake? I got a job.
Yup, Katie’s going back to her career in natural foods. I’ve so enjoyed the past 7 years at home.
Gotta go sew! If you want to join me tonight I have space in my invisible zipper pillow class.

You posted all this just to make me feel better, didn’t you? I can’t even FIND my list right now. Out.Of. Control.
Love the triangles ~ mad skills as always!
Love that top one…I need to keep going on mine so I can send you all the scraps 🙂 Congrats on the job – hope it means you’ll still be blogging though….my mom is headed to Seattle for a couple days with some friends – I wish I could have hopped along and come visit 🙂
you have got a lot going on! congrats on the job & all your work looks fab as usual.
Congrats on the job. Now you have lots of projects to fill the time in between (and they’re all ready to go)!
That’s a good way of looking at it!
So many balls in the air, and you make them all look so cozy. Good luck.
So many cool projects going on. So Katie, I have some leftover fabric from my light/dark 36-patch (which you can see on my blog). Want it? It’s yours if you do.
Hmmm…you’re too sweet. if they are 2.5 squares I’ll take them to guild for the swap. otherwise I’ll pass.
Thanks!
Love the white borders on the triangles, it really makes them pop. Congrats on the new job!
Congrats on the job! I can’t imagine going back to work and not quilting. (ok, ok, I don’t quilt all day anyway, sometimes I just sit on the sofa with the dogs.)
I love the triangles. Awesome!

Congrats on the job. Glad to have mine, but sometimes cramps my {quilting} style! 🙂
Love the triangles you are working on!
LOVE the triangles!
Cograts on the job! Hopefully I’ll still see you at guild, I owe you money for fabric!
You are such an inspiration; that triangle design is brilliant. I’m hoping you still get time to quilt and blog a bit. Congrats on the job though!!!
Katie, you were so productive! The idea with the irregular tight triangles and their setting looks great and I like the wonky look of your scrappy value quilt. Congratulations to your new job!
So busy!
What will you be doing with the job? Food and quilting are my two worlds as well.
Support in Health and Beauty department. Hoping to instruct some cooking classes later! Right up your alley lady.
Hi Katie! I am a new follower of your blog!
Your projects are so fresh and fun! I envy your Flea Market Fancy stash! Boy did I miss out on that one!
I am giving your blog an award, so please stop by mine to accept!
Explosion is the right word! Those triangles top my list of loves. Totally rocks. I seem to be craving sharp lately. Those definitely do me in.
Congratulations on your new job – that is super exciting! You’ve got some seriously exciting quilts on the go, too. I’m with Rachel, the pointy points are spectacular.
Love the values quilt and the spiky one 🙂
