What a treat to meet Luke Haynes last night and see his artwork in person. Not only do I admire his work and think he is an amazing artist, but Luke is also right in line with what seems to be the status quo of quilters, he is a nice and easy going person.
I love that he spent the day making his jacket.
He has a flare with metallic thread and fabric. The layering and added dimensions he creates in his work are certainly something you need to see in person.
And of course there is the added fun of pop culture. Like all of us in front of Michael Jackson.
The exhibit also provided a fabulous excuse to make it up to Capitol Hill. Stop in the gallery Vermillion to take your own looksie.

How very cool! I didn’t realize you were clear over there right now! You are missing the wonderful Western Washington rain, hehe. I was quite surprised yesterday when I got an Etsy notice that Luke added me to his ‘circle’. Pretty cool I thought 🙂
