Please join me tomorrow, Friday, May 4th from 6-9pm for a reception to celebrate the opening of my exhibit at Island Quilter on Vashon Island.
AND do some fabric shopping while you are there!
This shop is amazing and full of color.
Yesterday I loaded up the car and jumped the ferry.
I tried to talk people into playing hooky with me, but no go.
Anja and I started by laying the quilts out.
Then we grouped them so they had some flow for hanging.
Made me wish I had sleeves for them all.
Anja joked about painting all the clips to match the quilts.
I had to leave before they were all up, but I’ll have pictures for sure tomorrow!
Hope you come!
So excited to see them all on display!
And yes, I have money burning a hole in my pocketbook until tomorrow night ~
I went a little crazy yesterday.
Well, your car WAS empty for the return trip ~ so think of it as being environmentally responsible.
Looks like it will be amazing! What a lovely space. I wish I could be there, but I hope the opening goes beautifully!
Have you blogged about the pink and yellow quilt? I don’t remember seeing it before… It is so lovely and makes me think of butterflies. Seems like you found the perfect spot for it in the shop!
You can find that one here:

Oops – I meant the one hanging in front of the window in the 5th picture on this post. Maybe I should be more specific with my color descriptions… magenta/fuchsia and yellow with hints of plum?
impressive, Katie! Wish I lived closer and could see them in person (AND shop). Good luck.
Wish I could – it looks amazing. Know it will go amazingly.
Please post lots of Photo’s! These are really wonderful to see hanging. I sometimes think it is a shame to use my quilt as I don’t get the full effect. Good luck with the exhibition….wish I could come and see in person.
Ah, so that’s what they mean by a trunk show, all that you can cram into the trunk of your car 😀 Wish I could come, alas, too far…
Hi Katie!
Gosh! I really wish I lived near you. I am all the way over here on the east coast USA. Your book is very well written, full of some beautiful quilts and pillows (love it all) and my favorite! Congratulations and continued prosperity! One day!
