Funny how my design wall has enlarged, yet I still need more room. My plan is to create four squares on-point for this quilt to take it to my Seeing Value Workshop on Tuesday as a new sample.
This quilt is a long overdue thank you gift.
I’m holding a lot of medium value fabrics in my stash which leads to a blended look. While I like the low contrast I still need to move some stuff around to make the corners of the squares a little more defined. Rectangular would be fun too, maybe just three long ones.
Value Tutorial is here and more examples if you can do without the drive.
Off to Open Quilting Studio for the day! Happy Wednesday.
wow, this is going to look amazing!!!!
By having your light rounds changing places on the blocks, I get an off kilter feeling, like it is tippy.
What a cool layout! Inspired.
Thanks Rachel. I’m pretty jazzed about it!

I really love this. I definitely need to try some HST.
I loved your comment in your profile – I am often amused by what we get so much joy from doing … taking perfectly good pieces of fabric and cutting it up to make more bits of fabric. LOL
It’s the most fun!
That quilt is mind boggling. it works , but when I look at some of the colours and where they are placed my mind says they should mess up the pattern …but they don’t…..mind boggling. It seems to be a random placement of blocks then all of a sudden the overall pattern appears. Just what the heck is going on here? It’s an optical illusion. I am certain it was not too much Pinot last night. What a terrific quilt Thanks for sharing .
It’s Value!
