::Stepping Out::

July 13, 2013 By Katie

My year has included lectures to various types of quilt guilds.  I’m heading over towards Gig Harbor with the family today and was reminded I haven’t yet shown these fun pictures from my visit with the Gig Harbor Quilt Guild.

The guild has a great system for displaying quilts.  I would talk about a quilt and hand it off to my lovely helper who would place it on one of the pews.

sewkatiedid/gig harbor guild This system worked so wonderfully.  I’ve gotta say these ladies were the most lovely group and laying the quilts out like this offered us all a chance to see the quilts up close and ask any questions.

I thought of two things, how the hell I fit all these quilts into my little house and that I’ve got triangles covered.

Have a great weekend!

    Beautiful – I don’t think there is one that I wouldn’t want. If I canjust make a fraction that are as great as these, I will be happy. 🙂

    Oh my goodness. Imagine how long your presentation would have been if you had taken ALL the quilts. This looks like 25-30. What a treat for all these members.

    Perfect way to see them up close and personal. It’s a blessing to have such a wonderful space to do that.

    How fabulous to have all your quilts displayed together–I really love the lone star quilt! Did you have to wash and press all your quilts to get rid of fold lines or do you have some very cool way to store your quilts?

      I try to roll them, but generally I don’t worry about it. xo
