Classes and workshops, Modern Quilting, Modern Quilting Classes

::Snowballed Wonky Stars::

sewkatiedid/snowballed wonky starsThese stars are all I want to make right now.

Most of their little sparkling centers were cast offs when Quilting Modern was in process.  I eventually developed the Supernova quilt like the crimson blocks below and pushed these aside. I wanted another Stitch and Flip Triangle workshop sample for last weeks workshop with the Eastside Quilters Guild and the Snowballed Wonky Stars came back out to see the light.

sewkatiedid/Stitch and Flip Triangle workshopI had to place them aside, for my Modern Crazy Pieced geese and they’ve been driving me crazy.  I can’t find a background color I’m happy with.

sewkatiedid/modern geeseThe geese are side by side with this started improv Coin Quilt.

sewkatiedid/improv coin quiltThe Improv Coin Quilt is my favorite class to teach.

sewkatiedid/modern coin quiltI would like to have another sample by Thursday’s class, but unfortunately all I want to do is make Snowballed Wonky Stars for the back of the unfinished front.

I better go, I apparently have a lot to do.

What’s on your design wall?

    Thanks to you, I have a design wall. Used your tutorial about a year ago to make mine and I LOVE it. Today my sari strip quilt is on it … but not for long as I’m about to finally finish this quilt top. Here’s a pic: http://ebenezerstoryteller.blogspot.com/2013/09/doing-what-i-love-today.html

    I need to somehow teleport from NH to Seattle to take one of your classes. They look like super productive fun.

    You could go really crazy with the background and do a orange of some kind for those cool triangle blocks 🙂

    I love the room you have on your design board….I wish I had more….this was my design board last week http://factotum-of-arts.com/2013/09/18/wip-wednesday-18-09-2013/

  7. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for your stars and flying geese. I’m sure you’ll find a way to pull it all together. I love the aqua and scarlet stars next to each other–so appealing!

    I’m glad I’m not the only one who has multiple quilts going at the same time, making me crazy (but in a good way:) Those snowball stars and an improv coin quilt are on the to-do list. Can’t wait to see what your projects become!

  9. Those wonky stars are so beautiful!

  10. I love your centers for the wonky stars. What fun!
