::All-Day, All-Night Sew-in::

September 26, 2013 By Katie

I’ll be hopping the Vashon ferry tomorrow with a group to have an all day and night Sew-In (11am-9pm/$25) at Island Quilter.

sewinBring yourself, a friend, a project you might need some ideas or help with and sew away.

sewkatiedidIt’s a great open bright space to sew-in.  Perfect to baste a quilt and maybe have a schooner of beer to ease those basting knees.

    Howdy, this quilt looks so cute!
    I just finished a full sized quilt top, the biggest one I have ever complete from beginning to end, do you have any suggestions for basting the layers or getting them smooth? The last quilt i made had some wrinkles/folds in it when I finally quilted it. That’s so frustrating. :-/

    Thanks!

    In Virginia Beach, VA we have a ‘midnight madness’ which goes from noon to midnight – but no beer. It is fun to be w 14 friends and eat, talk and sew together.

    An all nighter? Sound fun, but I don’t know if I could stay awake. Seems harder has you get older.

    Hi Katie,
    Thanks for class last night! Your imagination inspires me to use my own, and I would love to do the all nighter some time in the future ( just ask for day off in advance!).
    See you next thursday.
