I’m up north teaching and lecturing, but I wanted to give you a heads up about my free motion open studio starting tomorrow night. If your unsure about how to hone your free-motion skills this studio time at Drygoods might be just what you need. It’s nice to have a little hand-holding and quality machines available for practicing this skill.
Drop in at anytime and I’ll get you started!

I DREAM of becoming that good! I need to find time to practice. My husband and I are in the process of updating and arranging my creative space and as soon as he builds me my drop-leaf table so I can have my sewing surface all flat, we will be in business!

As a very keen free motion quilter, I love your quote ‘thread is the best glue’. Our quilts are very different, but, having looked at your quilts, I have to say I love your style. You may just be converting me to modern quilting. I particularly like ‘flying geese’. Do you quilt the large quilts on a domestic sewing machine? Because I do a lot of pattern quilting I tend to do wall hangings.

Hi Hilary,
Some quilts are on my domestic and some are quilted by a long armer friend. It just really depends on time and design. Hope that helps!
