::Color::

March 12, 2014 By Katie

Jefe has requested that the new house have a neutral theme to the walls, but I’ve got to have some pop of color somewhere, so yesterday I took all the cans of paint left over from the old house and used them to start painting the insides of the closets.

photo-32The Pure Periwinkle paint will make me smile every time.  As I was painting I started to think about fabric colors and what are currently my favorite.  This stack from Quilt Sandwich Fabrics sums it up.  Mustard and crimson always go to the top of the list for me, and I’m not sure about the Alexander Henry except those mermaids are spot on (or maybe the hearts are:).

Do you have go to colors, or do you trend?

    Love those Anna Maria Horner prints! Just used them as fillers in the Color Dive quilt. I’m all over the place with color. I love to mix it up.

    I think closets are ignored in the house painting process. cheers to you for painting yours! 😀 I may need to keep this in mind when I move!

      It will be fun to open them up and have them go POP!

    I love to do neutral walls and big pieces (furniture), mostly in tans and khakis and browns, then throw in color. I always lean towards shades of blue and green, a la sea glass.

    Your home will be lovely!

      Sea glass is a favorite palette, I’ll have to keep it in mind because I like the crisp feel.

    My ‘go to’ colors are my own rainbow: hot pink, bright peachy orange, lemon yellow, lime, turquoise, and bright orchid!
    Grey is my neutral!

    Katie,

    I love the idea of painting the closet interiors different colors. Periwinkle is my favorite color and I have carpet that color in ny downstairs. On the main floor, I have hardwood and tile.

    When is your moving day?

    Hugs, Joan
