::Sewing For Me::

December 4, 2014 By Katie

sewkatiedid/double-trouble quilt

I pushed through to finish up my Quiltcon submissions and the last of the class samples for my new block series (coming up soon) so that I can have some precious sewing time purely for me.

sewkatiedid/fabric

I’ve been spending this ‘me’ time with a borderline crazy amount of holiday fabric:) and of course formulating new class ideas in my head because I can’t help it.

Sewkatiedid/square in a square

A little bit of Black Friday etc fabric shopping might have happened as well.  You know I’m running out;)

Sewkatiedid/Spit-Personality Nine-Patch

A few more blocks on my Split Personality Nine-Patch (which I’ll be teaching next weekend) and I can start the piecing process.  Crossing fingers for a quilting finish to have this on the bed by Christmas.

Whatcha making and any good Christmas fabric you’re drooling for this season?  I’ve been seeing some good stuff out there.

    Lovin’ the quilt in the top photo. Is that for QuiltCon? Will be looking for the completed project.

      Yes, submitted it for Quiltcon, although it might be too traditional.

    I’m trying to use scraps for my Christmas projects this year. We’ll see how long I last before digging into the Christmas fabrics.

    I am finishing my Elmo quilt for my youngest grandson. I am waiting to wash the completed Hello Kitty quilt for my granddaughter and a Legos/Angry Birds quilt for the oldest. I used very simple large block 4 patch and let the fabric shine. I used flannel as backing and a light batting. They live in Coeur D’ Alene so they will appreciate the warmth. Fun stuff. Let me know if you want pics.
