Master the use of the sewing machine and refine basic sewing skills and techniques in this beginner friendly sewing class while creating some functional stacking bins. Â We’ll cover the tips and tricks of cut, pin, sew as we learn the basics of a sewing machine.

Description
Only a full payment secures your space in a class and/or open studio. Payments are non-refundable. Please note: Students who cancel 72 hours or more prior to a class may transfer 100% of payment funds ONCE to the next available session or to another class/open studio. We will make every effort to accommodate a reschedule of this nature.
No refund or exchange will be given for late cancellations (72 hours or less) or no shows. Sorry, we are not able to make exceptions. This ensures that other students on a waiting list for spots in full classes have not missed an opportunity.
If a date was scheduled specifically for you there are no cancellations or transfers.

This is the studio's 'start with the basics' quilting workshop with a funky modern edge thrown in. Â Learn beginner quilting techniques like cutting, pressing and precise piecing while adding whimsical improvisational triangles that create endless designs.
You can easily design your own quilt top with your blocks or use the layouts we play with in class.
Supply lists will be emailed after sign up. Follow up with a Straight Line Quilting Workshop or Open Studio to learn all the quilt finishing techniques and turn your quilt top into a well loved heirloom.
Quilt As You Go Bins- Learn to Sew | Beginner Workshop
Please sign up for this class via the Open Studios page and write "QAYG" in the notes at checkout.
Quilt As You Go is a fun technique to get comfy with a machine. Â Learn the basics of cut, sew, and press while creating a useful bin. Â Use the studio's scraps or your own stash to make one or two. Â Take this skill home and apply it to making pouches, potholders, drawstring bags, pillows and other quilted gifts.
A basic supply list will be emailed or purchase a studio kit $10.
All Zipped Up | Box Pouch Workshop | Anytime Workshop
Please contact the studio to schedule or pick an open studio date and put "box pouch" in the notes at checkout.
Refine some of your sewing skills, like installing a zipper and boxing corners while creating a professional looking lined pouch. Â Pick two of your favorite fabrics or come with (2) quilted panels for a more personal touch.

Let's take a modern approach to crazy piecing.  This workshop will focus on a method for creating blocks with linear and geometric shapes to fit into endless quilt designs and projects.  Katie will share examples that are sure to inspire you to create something beautiful with your dozen (or so) finished blocks you’ll construct in class.
Double-Trouble Quilt Block | Designing with Triangles
A modern quilt block that is really no trouble at all!
Double-Trouble is a fun quilt block and design workshop that merges a traditional half-square triangle block with an improvisational stitch and flip triangle technique. We'lll explore and inspire each other on the design walls with the unlimited controlled and chaotic quilt design potential this block has to offer. Â One block = endless designs!
Katie will have multiple examples made with prints and solids to show for inspiration.
