There’s a little girl brewing out there in the Midwest.  One of my favorite people in the world, that just so happened to be my Maid of Honor is having a baby girl come December.  Flying cross country for a baby shower unfortunately doesn’t fit into my deadline…nor does a quilt…

I did whip up a few double sided flannel blankets.  I remember my Mom sending me a barrage of these until I thought she might have gone overboard.  Little did I know about pooping, spit up babies and the endless laundry.  I used every single one and now they are cut to bits and added to Roan’s quilt.

The owls are a flannel from Joann’s.  I find if I am there for other basic supplies I see if there is any flannel that is of good design AND quality for lounge pants and baby blankets.  I paired it with the sock monkey flannel Moda put out a few years ago and I still have a supply.

This sweet little blue bird I noticed on a blog and had to have it!  It is also from Joann’s.  I thought the larger boutique print complimented it well.

Baby Girl due date does coincide with deadline for finished projects for the book, so I am hoping I’ll get a quilt out come her arrival!
